ANCIENT PRACTICE. MODERN WOMEN. ROOTED APPROACH.
WHAT IS THE AMA PROJECT?
The Ama Project is designed for women who want a deeper relationship with the ocean and with sourcing their own food. It is a community built on the belief that loving our ocean comes before taking from it.
If you've ever felt the weight of spearfishing culture: the ego metrics, the biggest fish, the greatest depth, the longest breath hold, you'll know that women exist at the margins of that world.
This is the space that wasn't.
The dive. The breath. The harvest. The meal shared after. The knowledge passed between women. All of it belongs here.
WHY IT WAS CREATED
Women are physiologically built for this
The mammalian dive reflex is measurably stronger in female bodies. Women thermoregulate, carry buoyancy, and recover differently. None of this is weakness. All of it is information. Most programs never teach it.
The female nervous system learns differently.
Ego, comparison, and performance suppress a woman's ability to absorb new skills. Remove them and learning accelerates. The Ama Project removes them entirely. This is not a softer course. It is a more effective one.
The cycle is not an obstacle. It is a tool.
No mainstream spearfishing course accounts for the menstrual cycle. This one does. A woman who understands her cycle in the water stops fighting herself on the wrong days. She becomes more capable on the right ones.
WHERE TO BEGIN
Every woman enters from a different place. Choose one that best suits you. We are here to support and guide every step of the way.
